After a successful debut in 2025, the Shaw and Partners Downwind International returns in 2026 as part of Shaw and Partners WA Race Week — refreshed with some exciting new changes coming soon.

Competitors will take full advantage of Perth’s world-renowned sea breezes and classic downwind conditions in a fast, fun and challenging race along the spectacular WA coastline. The event will start at 5pm on the evening of Thursday 19th November 2026.

The Course

Start: City Beach 

Finish: Sorrento Beach

Time: 5pm

Distance: 12km 

The course will stay within 200m of the beach and will be marked by a buoy at Trigg, which competitors must pass to the right of.
